Consortium of Medical Dental and Engineering Colleges of Karnataka (COMED-K) will introduce strict monitoring measures to prevent malpractice during the entrance examination for post graduate medical and dental courses scheduled to be held on Sunday.
It will publish photos and details of candidates involved in malpractice at COMED-K and college websites and request authorities concerned across the country to ban such candidates.
“We will also request Medical Council of India (MCI) and state councils to invoke chapter 8 of Indian Medical Council (professional conducts, etiquette and ethics) regulations, so that the certificate issued to the candidate is either withdrawn or annulled,” said AS Srikanth, chief executive officer, COMED-K. COMED-K will also introduce block system of seat arrangement wherein each block will have 24 candidates. In no circumstance will two candidates sitting side by side or behind get similar question booklets.
Besides, it will install jammers and metal detectors at all the test centres and ensure that each centre will have a chief observer, a deputy chief observer, an invigilator, a centre observer and a mobile squad.
Over 18,418 candidates—1% more than the number of candidates attended the test last year—will take up the exam conducted at 27 centres across the city. Selected candidates will be eligible to get admission at 12 medical and 19 dental colleges in the state which are associated with COMED-K.
