Child dies in freak mishap

In a freak mishap, a two-year-old boy was killed today when a concrete bench on which he was sitting overturned as its support gave way, police said.

The mishap occurred when the boy's father went to get some food, leaving him on the bench erected on a footpath, they said.

The man has lodged a complaint against the city corporation Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BBMP), which is responsible for erecting the bench, the sources said.
