Chief Minister BS Yeddyurappa urged Non-Resident Kannadigas (NRK), especially in the United states to invest in Karnataka to build a prosperous state.
“Karnataka has a very good investment atmosphere. Kannadigas staying abroad should come back to Karnataka and join hands with the state government to build strong state” he added.
Inaugurating the 6th AKKA World Kannada Conference 2010 taking place in New Jersey via video conference from Kannada Bhavan, the CM called all Kannadigas back to the “motherland and serve the state”.
“Kannadigas are known for their kind-heartedness and generous attitude. Lakhs of Kannadigas are spread across the world. It is high time for all of them to come back to their motherland and serve the state. We have enough potential, only thing is that we are not utilising our talent at the fullest extent,” said the CM.
He appreciated AKKA's efforts to promote Kannada language and literature and said such activities should take place regularly.
“Our government is giving top priority to promote Kannada culture and literature. We are ready to spend any amount on that. We are planning to hold the World Kannada Meet in Belgaum shortly,” he said.
Actors Puneeth Rajkumar and Ramya, three ministers including Renukacharya and more than 30 MLAs, along with cultural troupes participated at the New Jersey meet.
