BS Yeddyurappa assures no more delay in Bangalore civic polls

Yeddyurappa expressed confidence that the Bharatiya Janata Party would win majority of seats in the BBMP and all the BJP legislators in Bangalore were eager to face the elections.

A day after notifying the ward reservation list, chief minister BS Yeddyurappa on Wednesday assured that there would be no more delay in conducting the polls for the Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BBMP).

He denied that his government had been trying to dodge the polls as it was scared of defeat. “We will conduct the polls as per the schedule the high court will decide. It was delayed in the past due to various reasons. But it will not be delayed any further. As the ward reservation list has been submitted to state election commission as per the high court directive, it is now up to the court to issue appropriate orders. We will obey it without any hesitation,” the chief minister said

The urban development department would accept objections on the reservation list till March 2.
