Addressing the graduating class of Illinois Institute of Technology, Bangalore branch, former Lok Ayukta Justice N Santosh Hegde highlighted the importance of being satisfied with what one has.
He said one needs to learn to be content, adding that one should acquire assets only through legitimate means. During the 12th graduation ceremony of the institute, Sridhar Jayanthi, managing director of McAfee Software, India, said it was important to bring people out of poverty.
Vivek Marla, president, Ciber, India, told the batch of 35 students that perseverance was important for success. Citing examples of popular sportspersons, he illustrated how these people were written off but scripted great comebacks, because they did not give up.
He exhorted the students to compete with themselves and inculcate leadership values. Further, he advised the students not to get lost in the rat race and put their dreams on back-burner.
