A day after the headmaster of Trio World School was suspended for allegedly sending obscene messages to a student on a social networking site, the school issued a statement.

“Trio World School is appalled by the turn of events and once again reiterates that the management will not tolerate any such issues even if it is a mere allegation and would not spare any effort to get to the bottom of the truth and to ensure to uphold the high standards maintained by the institute. In this regard, the management has already initiated various steps to address any concerns of our students and parents,” the school authority said in the statement.

On Friday, a parent of a 14-year-old student approached the school administration with a complaint that headmaster, Paul F Meekin, was “having an inappropriate online conversation with the pupil.”

“We are deeply shocked and saddened to state an unfortunate issue. Immediately, the management convened an emergency meeting and decided to suspend him from his current responsibilities forthwith pending investigation, not withstanding his past laurels. Thereafter, a police investigation was initiated and we have extended full cooperation to the police authorities,” read the statement.

Trio World School said the schedule of the classes would be unaffected.
