A 22-year-old nursing student was stabbed by miscreants in Kempegowda bus stand on Thursday. The victim, Samson, who hails from Mysore, had returned to Bangalore from his hometown when he was attacked.

Samson was answering nature’s call at one end of the bus stand when he was attacked, but his valuables were not stolen, said the police. “Samson called me at 8.45pm. He said he was heading to his paying guest accommodation near Nimhans,” said Karthik, Samson’s friend.

“From 8.50pm, I got calls from his cellphone for 15 minutes, but I was busy and couldn’t receive the calls. The last call was at 9.10pm and when I received the call, a person told me my friend had been stabbed. He was being taken to a police station,” he added.

Later, after receiving first aid at a nearby hospital, Samson was taken to Victoria Hospital. However, some hospital authorities refused to treat Samson, said Karthik. He alleged that: “They were not ready to touch my friend as his hands were dirty as he answering nature’s call when he was stabbed.”

They also told Karthik that Samson may succumb to his injuries.

Later, Karthik was advised to admit Samson to another hospital where proper facilities were available. At Mallya Hospital, Samson was treated for two stab wounds in his chest. He will be under observation till Saturday.
