Banglore: The Advocates' Association of Bangalore (AAB) has decided to abstain from all court work on Monday in protest against the Karnataka High Court Chief Justice PD Dinakaran continuing to conduct proceedings, though the Supreme Court Collegium had de-linked his name from the elevation list in the wake of disproportionate assets allegations against him.

The AAB passed a unanimous resolution to this effect at its special general body meeting held here on Wednesday.

It decided to stay away from all proceedings in the High Court, civil courts, family courts, magistrate courts and munsiff courts on Monday.

At Wednesday's meeting, 60 advocates were critical of chief justice Dinakaran, while eight others spoke in his favour.

After a war of words, a group of advocates supporting the chief justice was forcibly removed from the premises. The meeting then adopted a "unanimous" resolution asking the chief justice to refrain from conducting court proceedings failing which they would boycott the courts on Monday.
