A Kazakh woman Dina and her friend Vikram were detained by the Cubbon Park traffic police on Thursday for drunk driving and misbehaving with the police.

The police said they stopped the duo who were riding a two-wheeler at 12.30 am on Thursday while carrying out routine checks for drink driving. They found that the rider, Vikram, was under the influence of alcohol. They seized the vehicle and handed the duo a copy of the fine amount and asked them to leave in an autorickshaw.

The police said Dina allegedly began to shout and abused a sub-inspector. The police said she then claimed that she was riding the two-wheeler. The police then claimed Dina threatened the officials that she would lodge a complaint at the Kazakhstan consulate about police harassment.
