A 15-year-old boy raped a five-year-old girl in an empty site in Nelamangala on Wednesday. The class IX student and his victim, a UKG student, study in the same school.

Police said the accused used to watch clips of pornographic films on his classmate’s mobile phone. On Tuesday, he saw the victim, who is also a relative, waiting for her parents to pick her up after school. He told the school staff that he would drop her home.

En route to her house, the accused took the girl to an empty site and began undressing her. When the girl began crying, he hit her on the head with a stone. The girl fell unconscious and later, the boy raped her.

On reaching school, the victim’s parents could not spot her and the school watchman told them that the accused had offered to drop her home. The victim’s mother and uncle went in search of the girl and half a kilometre from school, they found her schoolbag. On nearing the site, they saw the accused and apprehended him. Passers-by gave the accused a sound thrashing. He was later handed over to the police.

The girl suffered head injuries and is in a hospital ICU in Yeshwantpur. The boy’s father Krishnappa works at a five-star hotel on Kumara Krupa Road. The boy has been lodged in a juvenile home and a case has been registered in Nelamangala police station.
