A 22-year-old woman was found unconscious with bite marks and head injuries in an open field at Syndicate Bank Layout, near Byadarahalli, on Magadi Road, in Tavarekere police limits, on Monday evening.

Police suspect the victim might have been sexually assaulted, as they found used and unused condoms around her.

Deputy superintendent of police (Ramanagara sub-division) Ramalingappa said they were alerted by public on Monday evening, of an unconscious woman.

The victim was shifted to a nearby government hospital for treatment, and was later referred to Vani Vilas Hospital. “We suspect that she might have lying unconscious from Sunday night. We have shifted her to Nimhans for treatment. We will know the details of what happened to her once she regains consciousness,” Ramalingappa said.

Police also found two pairs of men's footwear and another pair of women's footwear at the scene. A case has been registered and investigations are on.
The medical report of the woman will confirm whether she was raped.

“We are also trying to find out her name and address,” said an investigating officer. Police will record the victim's statement once she gains consciousness.
