Bangalore city’s police commissioner MN Reddi has every reason to smile with pride. Reddi is the first police commissioner of Bangalore, who has used social media to the fullest to listen to the problems of the citizens and work on them accordingly.

Reddi expressed his gratitude also for crossing the 50k follower mark on his Twitter account.

Social media helped in addressing complaints within few hours
Reddi while speaking to iamin said that after he assumed office in July 2014, he asked citizens of Bangalore to make full use of social network like Twitter to report any complaints via his Twitter handle. “I have been receiving many complaints on my Twitter handle.

There are occasions wherein even senior citizens complain about several issues that they face on a daily basis. I immediately inform the traffic police station of the respective areas to cater to the issue. Most of such complaints are addressed within a few hours,” Reddi told iamin.

When iamin asked about the type of cases solved through Twitter account, Reddi said, “All types of complaints, including extortion and prostitution, were addressed. I am happy with the response from the public and the proactive attitude of city police in addressing the complaints and investigating the cases further.”
