Rape in school: Porn-addict skating coach arrested

In connection with the rape of a first standard student at Vibgyor High, a school in Marathahalli, the Vartur police have arrested the 30-year-old skating teacher. According to sources, the accused is said to be addicted to watching pornographic videos in which girls wearing school uniform were raped. The police are still on the lookout for the other accused in the case.

The arrested man has been identified as Mustafa alias Munna, a native of Darbhanga district in Bihar. He was staying in a house near Omshakti Club in Vartur and had moved to the city about 20 years ago. He is married and has a three-year-old daughter.

Investigations revealed that before joining Vibgyor High school in 2011, he was working at a private school in Whitefield. Even there, he had been accused of misbehaving with children and was thus removed from the job.

"During the investigation it was revealed that he is a pervert and addicted to pornographic videos. His laptops and mobile phones were seized. His laptops were filled with porn videos which he had downloaded from the internet in which girls wearing school uniforms were raped. He will be produced before a judge and will be taken into police custody for further interrogation," police commissioner Raghavendra H Auradkar said.

"It is also said that he was showing porn videos in his mobile phones to school children and we are verifying whether he has molested or sexually assaulted any other child in the school," the police added.

A first standard student was raped in the school on July 2 but had come to light only after her parents filed a complaint with Vartur police on July 14. The incident had led to protests from various organisations across the city.
