People Tree Foundation to conduct 100 free surgeries within 100 days

Moving a step ahead in their philanthropic activity, city based People Tree Hospitals a part of People Tree Foundation is embarking on an arduous project of doing 100 complex surgeries for 100 needy deserving patients in 100 days.

The surgeries will be done mainly for orthopedic, gynecology and pediatric cases which will comprise of joint replacement, spine, sports medicine and limb reconstruction. Speaking to dna about the project Dr Chandrashekar Chikmuniyappa, CEO, People Tree Hospitals said: "We have already begun with the screening procedure and the surgery will be provided for the deserving and extremely needy patients. We have conducted a screening camp in Tumkur and on August 10 similar camp will be conducted in Tiptur. Following which a mega screening camp will be conducted at the hospital premises wherein the 100 deserving patients will be picked up."

As we commemorate a year of the hospital's existence in Bangalore in October 2014 we will be starting off with the 100 days project then on. He said: "We have been doing free surgeries as and when we get donors and deserving patients. Since we are getting more requests we thought of this project. This would be the beginning and we are planning to make it a daily affair."
