The Republic Day-2010 parade will be held at Field Marshal Manekshaw Parade Grounds on Tuesday. The city police have banned mobile phones, cameras, radio, umbrellas and any other object that may pose a threat to security at the venue. People with these items will not be allowed to enter the grounds, an official release from the city police said. The ceremonial parade where Governor of Karnataka HR Bharadhwaj will receive the salute will be held at 9 am. Attendees are requested to be seated before 8.30am.
Bangalore City Traffic Police, meanwhile, has drawn up some traffic regulations to be followed in and around the Parade Grounds on the day. Invitees with yellow car passes will be required to come on to Cubbon Road and enter Gate 1 facing northern side of Brigade Parade Ground, and park their vehicles on the western side of Parade Ground. White car pass holders and secretaries to the government, military officers, police officers and others in the category will have to use Gate 2 from Cubbon Road in front of Military Supply Depot.
Traffic diversion: Traffic will be diverted during the parade between 8.30 am and 10.30 am from BRV Junction to Kamaraja Road Junction on both directions on Cubbon Road. Vehicles coming from CTO Circle towards Manipal Center on Cubbon Road will have to take left turn on Central Street at BRV junction and then move towards Central Street junction, take right turn to enter Infantry Road to reach Safina Plaza. Vehicles from there have to take a left turn to reach Main Guard Road, Allies Circle, Dispensary Road, Kamaraja Road to enter Dickenson Road junction. They can turn right at KR Road junction, then turn left towards Manipal Centre junction. Vehicles coming from Manipal Centre junction towards CTO circle on Cubbon Road will turn left at KR road junction to move towards Cauvery Arts and Crafts Circle then turn right on MG Road to reach Anil Kumble Circle. From there, they can turn right to reach BRV junction to move towards CTO Circle.
Vehicles coming from Anil Kumble Circle towards Cubbon Road will go straight on Central Street junction, take the same route to reach Manipal Centre.
