As part of the ongoing activities of the golden jubilee celebrations, Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS) launched its traveling photo exhibition on Tuesday.

KVS with its network of 1093 schools, 25 regional offices and 5 zonal institutes of educational training (ZIETs), has been panning India since 1963, beginning with 20 regimental schools run by the ministry of defence.

The traveling photo exhibition was inaugurated in Bangalore by governor Hansraj Bhardwaj, in the presence of E Prabhakar, joint commissioner, KVS, New Delhi. During the 10 days of the exhibition, a number of creative and cultural activities involving students and teachers of KVS have been planned. The exhibition will remain open for general public between 9 am and 6 pm on all days, ending on September 25.

The exhibition has been planned to be showcased in 14 cities across India, including Mumbai, Lucknow, Kolkata among others, and was initiated in New Delhi. It exhibits the journey of KVS from 20 to 1093 schools, along with its pace-setting initiatives and innovative practices for quality education of school children and capacity building of its teachers and staff.

These exhibitions about the growth and evolution of KVS will spread awareness about the contribution of KVS in the field of education.

The year-long golden jubilee celebrations of KVS will come to an end with a grand closing ceremony at the Hyderabad International Convention Centre in the 1st week of December, marking the end of the photo exhibition as well.
