The Karnataka Janatha Party (KJP) filed a complaint with Election Commission on Friday, against the BJP government taking major policy decisions at the fag end of its tenure. It accused the government of taking major policy decisions for making unlawful gains.

“The CM and ministers are believed to have made  fortunes for themselves by taking a decision for setting up of many private universities. It is reliably learnt that the government is going to take two more major decisions soon for  personal gains,” said Dhananjay Kumar, KJP leader. “In one of the decision they would permit using of public property to the extent of about 500 acres in Palace grounds for private sale in real-estate deals. It is unfortunate that the Congress leaders also are hand in glove with the Government in this unfair deals,” he said.

He also alleged the government is likely to issue license for opening thousands more liquor shops in the State. A deal has been struck to collect more than ` 250 crore, Kumar said. “It is also likely to take a decision to increase commission to the liquor vendors from 10 per cent to 20 per cent getting a kick-back of over ` 50 crore,” he added.

KJP wants interference of the EC by nullifying the the possible moves of the government in the ‘interest of general public’.
