Karnataka High Court orders medical test of Nithyananda on August 6

The Karnataka High Court has directed to conduct the medical test on the tainted godman Nithyananda on August 6, 2014 at Victoria Hospital, dismissing the petition seeking stay on medical test, Justice A S Pachapure directed him to be present in the hospital at 10 am. Earlier on Thursday, the court had stayed the medical test on Nthyananda till Friday morning.

Nithyananda and his disciples, on special order had submitted a petition on Thursday stating that the a stay should be initiated against the medical test order. The court then granted stay till Friday morning. When the matter came up again on Friday, the bench dismissed the petition and ordered for a medical test.

The court also directed to make all the arrangements for the test to be done by 7am on the same day. During the hearing, Criminal Investigation Department sought his custody for one week which was rejected by the court. In the hearing last year, the High Court had ordered for a medical test and investigation by CID.
