The state government has formed an 'advisory committee' to deal with the issues of crime against women and children. This decision came after the public outcry against the recent crime incidents against women and children in the state.

The state government on Tuesday decided to form the advisory committee led by former MLC MC Nanaih, MLA and MLCs and selected members of women organisations and others. The committee is asked to have a study on crime against women and give a report with measures to be followed to curb such anti-social elements and laws to punish the criminals.

It can be recalled that, after the recent issues in state, the public and elected representatives started demanding the state government to punish the offenders. Also they had pressurised the government to form a committee of experts. Now the chief minister, Siddaramaiah and Home Minister, KJ George have taken up the steps to form a experts committee.
