Annoyed by the statements of his political rivals that the presence of JD(S) is limited to a few districts, former chief minister HD Kumaraswamy on Wednesday claimed that his party would show its might in the upcoming Urban Local Bodies (ULB) polls.

He also stated that his party candidates would defeat opposition leader in legislative assembly Siddaramaiah and KPCC president G Parameshwar in the forthcoming assembly election.

Speaking to reporters after inaugurating the media centre of the JD(S), Kumaraswamy said Parameshwar and Siddaramaiah were going to lose elections in their constituencies.

“JD(S) candidates will emerge victorious in Koratagere and Varuna constituencies, presently represented by Parameshwar and Siddaramaiah respectively,” he said.

Though there is no connection between the ULB polls and assembly polls, the results of the ULB polls will serve as a huge psychological advantage for the party workers, he said.
He claimed that since 1983, no political party had got the majority in the ULB polls. The JD(S) will emerge as the single largest party this time, he added.
