The newly elected president of Bangalore Chamber of Industry and Commerce (BCIC) HV Harish, along with senior vice-president  AN Chandramouli, on Saturday called on the chief minister Siddaramaiah to offer support to all the state government’s endeavours.

In June, the BCIC had submitted a comprehensive 12-point economic agenda to the CM, recommending structural and administrative changes that need to be implemented to spur economic activity in the state.

“We apprised the CM on various policy and procedural issues hindering the growth of industry in the state.  We are of the opinion that if the 12-point agenda is implemented in toto, the state’s economy, which is witnessing a flat growth, will once again look upwards and reemerge as the most preferred investment destination in the nation in the coming quarters,” said HV Harish.

Meanwhile, AN Chandramouli informed Siddaramaiah about the huge knowledge repository that the BCIC has created  on various industry verticals, adding that the BCIC will be more than willing to work closely with the state government to regain its past glory and thereby make Karnataka a model state in the country.

The CM reassured the BCIC delegation that his government will be in constant touch with them and that necessary inputs will be sought from them from time to time.
