House committee suggests government to complete water projects in time

The house committee for estimation in the legislative assembly stated that the delay of on going water projects in state will increase the expenditure and suggested the government to complete the projects in time.

The committee headed by MLA Malakayya V Guttedar on Tuesday submitted a detailed report in assembly session mentioning that the on going projects like Yettinahole drinking water project must complete in time. Delay of these projects will result in increase in expenditure. The project should be completed on time as there is increased demand for drinking water in dry land areas of Chikballapur, Kolar and Bangalore.

Even the report stated that the water given through Cauvery tribunal should be utilised and projects in Carvery basin have to be completed in time. Even there is scope for new projects here. But completion of projects on time will help in utilising the water. Once the rain start, the stored water has no use and it get wasted.

The report also mentioned of the rejuvenation of lake. According to the report lakes have to rejuvenated and clear the silt.
