Customers in India can now search, browse and shop for products on amazon.in anywhere, anytime using the website's newly-developed Android app.
Amazon.in announced the availability of its mobile shopping app for Android phones on Wednesday. The Amazon App for Android offers a convenient, fast and secure way for customers to search, browse, compare offers, read reviews and make purchases anywhere.
Customers can shop for products available on www.amazon.in, including books, movies, mobiles, electronics, toys, personal care appliances, health care devices, watches, fashion jewellery, home and kitchen products and more, via the app.
Using this app, customers can scan a barcode or type a product name to instantly check availability and prices for that item on amazon.in.
“We are excited to further enhance the customer shopping experience,” said Amit Agarwal, vice-president and country manager, Amazon India.
The Amazon app provides a seamless on-the-go experience, whether it is a customer looking to shop while commuting, or comparing prices while shopping outside, or wishing to track order status at any time. New customers can sign up for an account using the Amazon App, while existing customers can login using their amazon.in username and password to access the same account they use on the web.
Customers already using Android app for any of the international Amazon stores can simply switch the country to India and shop on amazon.in.
Customers can also have the product they want delivered to their door while benefitting from Amazon’s 24x7 customer service support, and globally recognised and comprehensive purchase protection provided by Amazon’s A-to-Z Guarantee.
Customers ordering products that are fulfilled by Amazon (FBA) can enjoy additional benefits of free delivery with no minimum value, cash on delivery (COD), delivery tracking to the doorstep, and free returns pickup.

Customers can buy over nine million books, over 1,30,000 products from hundreds of brands, and more than 1.9 million eBooks from a continually growing pool of retailers.
The Amazon App for Android is available on any Android phone as a free download through Android Market and through Amazon Appstore.
