Either you or rowdies rule the land, Bangalore top cop to police brass

"Its time for you people to decide whether you will stay in the police station or allow rowdies in your station limits." This was the stern warning from the city's new top cop all the inspectors. M N Reddi, who was brought in as the city police commissioner amidst increasing protests against rape incidents, has clearly told his men to act tough against anti social elements and open rowdy sheets against those who eve tease girls.

In a meeting held with all senior officers and inspectors of all stations on Tuesday, the commissioner is said to have asked all DCPs, ACPs and inspectors to be on rounds till 11 pm every night, except the days on which they are on night duty. "I want intense patrolling by all the staff. Police visibility on streets will definitely curb crime rate and help in maintaining law and order. And its must for all inspectors to visit spot immediately after any crime incident," a source said quoting Reddi.

The commissioner has also instructed the inspectors to deal with eve teasers with an iron hand and open rowdy sheet against them. "He is particular against crime against women and has advised the officers to be very stringent while dealing with such cases. He wants the officers to open history sheet against eve teasers and to book accused in rape cases under Goonda Act," the source said.

Reddi has reportedly asked the inspectors to not budge to any influence and act tough against all anti social elements. "He asked to contact and seek his advise if there is any confusion in enforcement of law or in investigating any crime case," the source added.
