Congress stages protest against KSRTC attacks

The Congress has condemned the Maharashtra Ekikaran Samiti (MES)'s attack on KSRTC buses for demolishing the Marathi boards at Yallur village in Belgaum by the district administration.

The Rajajinagar assembly constituency Congress committee's information technology cell, under the leadership of V Shekar, DA Pramod Shankar and S Manohar, along with the Congress workers staged protest against the violent acts of the MES activists in Belgaum district.

The Belgaum district administration has demolished the illegal name boards in the border areas of the state. But the MES workers vandalised property in the bordering areas, and both, Kannada and Marathi-speaking villagers are living with fear.

However, the district administration should give protection to the innocent villagers and take strict action against the hooligans, who were damaging public property, the Congress leaders demanded.

Meanwhile, Kannada organisations like Karnataka Rakshana Vedike under the leadership of Narayana Gowda, and Kannada Okkuta under the leadership of Vatal Nagaraj, along with a huge crowd staged a protest at the Mysore Bank circle.
