Congress celebrates G Parameshwar's birthday or death day? asks Gowda

Even as Congress party workers in the state are making elaborate plans to celebrate Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC), President G Parameshwar's birthday Union Railway Minister DV Sadananda Gowda on Sunday mocked the plans stating that it would 'death day celebration' for Congress.

Speaking at the Bharaitya Janata Party SC Morcha meet in city Gowda said "Even though the Congress party used all the gimmicks to bag power in state, it has failed to live up to the expectations of the SC's and backward communities. Now the party, in order to show its strength, has planned to hold birthday celebration of G Parameshwara on August 6. This would be a 'death day celebration', not a birthday. Further this would be the state government's last celebrations, as public want change," he said.

Further Gowda said,"The state government used backward, minority and schedule caste as vote bank and whereas the government funds are concerned, so far only 21 percent of reserved fund has been utilised. Now Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, who claimed of clean governance, himself facing de-notification allegations and now public are tired of Congress and expecting a change," he said.

On the occasion Gowda also admitted that the BJP faced a few internal blinkering while in power in the state. He said that internal clashes and a few errors committed by the party leaders resulted in the Congress coming to power.

On retired IPS Officer Kempaiah's appointment as advisor to Home Minister KJ George, he said that the appointment was done by Siddaramaiah to have firm grip and control over the home ministry
