The Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation (BMRCL) made an unexpected discovery on Thursday: a cannon supposedly belonging to the Tipu Sultan era. The cannon was found in the Chamarajpet region, near Vani Vilas Hospital.

According to officials in the ASI, the cannon was found in an 'encrusted' condition. The ASI has moved the cannon to a safer location at the Metro site and will study it in the next few days.
