Boeing team visits specially-abled people

A team of 25 members from Boeing on Saturday visited the Association of People with Disability's (APD) Horticulture Training Centre and spent considerable time in planting saplings and also to participate in a few activities connected to environment and preservation of nature at the premises.

The members also visited APD's another centre at Lingarajpuram campus and spent time in interacting with the physically-challenged children of Shradanjali Integrated School (SIS), which is located in the same campus. Children performed a skit on conservation of natural resources.

Boeing team also distributed wheelchairs 'Chaitanya'to physically-challenged people which would be helpful to them to lead life. K N Gopinath, Executive Director spoke on how a wheel chair would be helpful for a physically-challenged person. He also said "a wheelchair can be a passport to a disabled person to obtain self esteem and self confident. However as one of the beneficiary said there are still lakhs of people in Karnataka are waiting to join hands in support this group.

Ajit Mate from Boeing addressed the students of SIS encouraging them in future, if anybody would wish to fly in Boeing aircraft I would help them he said. The children were highly enthused with his remarkable words. The Boeing team also interacted with people with disability who have covered under Healthcare and Human Services project.
