Officials in the IT city of India have taken to using information technology in a big way. The Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) has launched a mobile application so that residents of the city can post all their civic grievances easily. What's more, they can even add pictures to their complaints.

According to Deccan Herald, the app is called ‘BBMP Sahaaya’. Currently, Android phone users can download the app. 'Sahaaya' is the website that was launched earlier and this app is an extension of that service. The public does not have to register on the app to file a complaint unlike the website, where you need to give your e-mail ID. As soon as you key in your phone number, the individual can file a complaint according to categories, type, address and so on.

The daily quoted a BBMP official as stating that the app was developed after they got feedback from citizens stating that it would be easier to file civic complaints if there was an app. The BBMP's IT department has developed the app themselves in a period of two months.
