Bangalore rape case: Parents of Vibgyor High students to submit written petition to HRD minister

Parents of the children studying in Vibgyor High have taken the protest of sexual assault to the next level by seeking more than 10,000 signatures from parents of same accord from different schools and gated community.

The written petition with over 10,000 signatures will be submitted to Union Human Resources Development Minister Smriti Irani for expediting action against the alleged sexual assault of six year old girl in the school premises by the skating instructor who is allegedly a pedophile and another accomplice who is still absconding.

After staging protest continuously for nearly a week, thousands of parents and supporters will seek the help of the union ministry for intervention in the delivering speedy justice. The protest has garnered support from all kinds of apartments association who have come forward According to the active parents group of Vibgyor High, on social media apartments like Purva Riviera, Purva Fountain Square, Rohan Vasantha, Shriram Samruddhi and other apartments are already working on a written petition which is going to be signed by more than 10,000 (including Non-Vibgyor High school) parents and is going to be handed over to HRD Minister Smriti Irani in person to look into the case more strongly.

SM Ramesh, Block Education Officer, the Vibgyor High school management has suspended five employees of the institution adding, "Susan, Vikram, Mustafa, Rajgiri and Wasim are the sports instructors who have been suspended." A delegation of core committee of parents of Vibgyor High submitted a comprehensive memorandum to Primary and Secondary Education Minister Kimmane Ratnakar on Monday.

With the record of eight principals being changed over the past four years, the current principal is just about two months old in Vibgyor High Marathahalli branch. However the parents association too are confused, with the transfer of police commissioner Raghavendra Auradkar. A parent on condition of anonymity, said, "Parents are shell shocked with the gruesome incident that has take place. More so, the transfer of commissioner Auradkar, is huge set back. Parents have met the education department officials and are looking forward to stringent action upon the institution. The future of more than 3,000 students are at stake and parents are confused and shattered with the turn of events."
