While the economy has seen happier times, the average Indian seems to be experiencing a sort of a gold rush—if gold sales are anything to go by.
To provide a platform to showcase gold and diamond jewellery, Jewels of India, an exhibition from across India, returns to the city. It will be held from October 18 to 21 at Koramangala Indoor Stadium.
The exhibition was held in Bangalore earlier this year, as well. The organisers were eager to return because of the huge sales they made, convener Sandeep Bekal said.
About 80 jewellers from different states of India will be showcasing their ware during the exhibition. Kundan and Meenakari jewellery from Jaipur, antique jewellery from Tamil Nadu, thewa from Rajasthan, designer diamond jewellery from Mumbai, handcrafted gold jewellery and tribal designs in gold from Kolkata, Burmese rubies and Gujarati handcrafted gold jewellery will be some of the highlights of the show. GRT from Chennai, Panchkesari Badera Jewellers from Bangalore, Mehta Brothers from Pune, Champalal from Vellore, BB Jewellers from Bangalore, Vasundhara Diamond Roof from Hyderabad and MP Swarna Mahal from Bangalore are among the jewellers participating.
