Two persons were murdered in separate incidents in the city on Monday night.
A cable operator was murdered by his friends at Byrappa Block in Tyagarajanagar police station limits on Monday night owing to a monetary dispute. The police have detained three people in connection with the incident.
The victim, Punit Kumar, 27, was standing near a bakery in Byrappa Block about 8 pm on Monday when his friends came there and picked up a quarrel with him over an old financial dispute. They allegedly stabbed him and fled.
Punit managed to ride back to his house, which was close by, and his family members rushed him to KIMS and then to Victoria Hospital, where he succumbed.
“About six months ago, Punit and his friends had a fight, following which they were arrested and sent to the central prison. They were released on bail after a few days. The murder has taken place for the same reason again,” the police said.
