Anita Borg Institute announces call for participation for Grace Hopper Celebration of Women in Computing

The Anita Borg Institute (ABI), a non-profit organization focused on the advancement of women in computer science and engineering, announced the Call for Participation for the 2014 Grace Hopper Celebration of Women in Computing ( India), which will take place from November 19-21 in Bangalore.

The event, which is held annually, will see participation from women technologists from across India and neighbouring countries. They gather together to network, collaborate, and explore the latest technologies. The event will also provide attendees with sessions covering technical topics from researchers and industry leaders, professional development sessions for attendees at all career levels, and, a career fair for aspiring undergraduate and graduate students.

Presenters are required to submit proposals on new technology developments in the areas of Internet of Things, Wearable Computing, Social, Security, Gaming etc. The deadline for submissions is August 20th.
"The Grace Hopper Celebration is a landmark conference that brings together women technologists to celebrate the spirit of women in computing & showcase the potential of women technologists in building technologies the world needs to improve & enhance the lives of billions," said Geetha Kannan, India managing director, Anita Borg Institute. "Speakers at GHC are from all walks of life, have great, inspirational stories to share, and are thought leaders in computing."

The last year's event saw participation from over 1,500 people from across India and neighbouring countries, including 150 students.
