Ask yourself, 'Why you are reading this now?' You could have read something else; why this? Your action itself implies that there is a deep-seated need for meditation within you.
What is your ultimate aim in life? To earn more? To stay young, healthy and beautiful? To have better, long-lasting relationships?
The list is endless but every single goal, without exception, points to the same thing: a yearning for the state of ananda or bliss. Can you say, 'I am not interested in being happy?'
Each one of us is in search for nothing but ananda or bliss. However intellectual or sophisticated the terms in which we express it might be, we are all seeking it. Only the way we search for it is different -- through money, power, relationships, etc.. The word ananda itself means 'that which cannot be reduced'. It is neither happiness nor pleasure. It is a state beyond both, where neither affect you any more.
The straight and sure route to that bliss is meditation. When you meditate, you go beyond the narrow limits of your body and your ego. This is a difficult concept to understand. But, with sincere meditation, you can experience it.
Meditation relaxes the body and mind, bringing clarity of thought. This helps you look at life with a new perspective. It is a guaranteed solution to stress, depression, fears and all the other negative emotions that mask your true nature of bliss.
You can look at any situation with a freshness, uninhibited by the failures of the past, yet learn in an unbiased way from the past experience. With meditation you can enjoy every moment of life to the fullest, as it brings your awareness to the present. The present is all that matters; not the history of the past, not the speculation of the future. The past is gone but the present is completely in your hands, and will decide your future.
With regular meditation you'll find yourself doing the same things better, quicker, more efficiently, in a more relaxed way, with more enthusiasm. Meditation transforms you mentally, physically, emotionally and spiritually. Research studies indicate that those who meditate, experience low levels of stress and live a healthy, peaceful life.
Meditation unleashes the natural source of intelligence within you. The side-effects of it will be increased productivity, improved interpersonal relationships, and more. Meditation is the master key that liberates you from all the dilemmas of your mind and depression of your being.
