A red alert has been sounded in across the Karnataka, with security at Bangalore International Airport being tightened, following the twin blast at Hyderabad, on Thursday, leaving 10 dead and many more injured.
Bipin Gopalakrishna, additional director general of police (law and order) told DNA that all the cities in Karnataka, have put on red alert, with bus stands, railway stations, cinema halls, malls and public places coming under the scanner. Bomb detection and dog squads will patrol sensitive locations, including religious places, he said.
The additional commissioner of police (law and order) T Suneel Kumar, added that police forces will keep a close eye on activities in Bangalore.
Security has been beefed up in and around the BIAL with over 300 personnel from Central Industrial Security Force (CRPF) have been deployed around the airport, following the Hyderabad blasts.
In addition to this, more than 75 cops from city police have also been deployed in the vicinity. Thorough checking is also being done of all vehicles heading towards airport at the main entrance after the trumpet flyover.
