Over 100 students from as many as six states will be taking up a unique 13-day journey that will also pan across states to meet the leaders and luminaries who were successful in bringing out positive social changes. For what? To bring out the leaders in themselves.
Hubli-based Deshpande Foundation is organising the leadership tour, Prayana, under its LEAD project. The journey will start on January 17 and end on January 30.
“Through this leadership journey on wheels, we wish to persuade the youth that they can create positive change in society,” said Ajay Suman Shulka, coordinator of LEAD.
The Prayana will cover Dharwad, Manipal, Dharmasthala, Mysore, Bangalore, Kuppam (in Andhra Pradesh), Murudeshwara and Hubli. It will include discussions, workshops and hands-on learning with personalities like Ratan Tata, Narayana Murthy, Veerendra Heggade, Shivarathri Deshikendra Mahaswamiji of Suttur Mutt, entrepreneur Gururaj Deshpande, FRS fellow Raghunath Mashelkar, Rohini Nilekani, Sudha Murthy, Redbus CEO Phanindra Sama and Magsaysay awardee Harish Hande.
LEAD had organised such a journey last year too. This year, the participants are from Karnataka, Andhra Pradeh, West Belgal, Gujarat, Delhi and Maharashtra.
