2 terror suspects' custody extended

Two more terror suspects were produced before the trial court on Saturday and—like the 11 suspects produced before them—their police custody was also extended till September 27.At 4.15 pm, Obedulla-ur-Rahman, 21, who was arrested from Hyderabad and Mohammed Akram, 22, were produced before the local court, where the investigating officer sought an extension of custody.Obedulla, a BCom student, was arrested by Bangalore CCB in Hyderabad for allegedly plotting to kill three councillors of the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation. Relatives of Obedulla have not been able to meet him yet.

Mohammed Akram,who hails from Nanded in Maharashtra, was arrested by CCB sleuths while he was trying to flee the city and was on the way to Majestic bus stand. From him, the police had recovered one Italian 7.65-mm ‘Beretta’ gun along with 16 cartridges.Till now, the local court has extended the police custody of 13 suspects. One remaining suspect, Dr Nayeen Siddiqui, who was picked up from Cantonment station, will be produced before the court on Monday.
