Students of Bangalore University (BU) can now file their revaluation requests at BangaloreOne centres across the city. BU has taken the cue from the pre-university education (PUE) department, which had introduced the student-friendly measure a few years ago.
From this year onwards, even BU students will get that benefit and can apply in any of the 64 BangaloreOne centres.
BU has decided not to charge the students any additional fee for utilising this facility.
“BangaloreOne centres will collect Rs1 service charge, but that will be paid by the university,” said BU vice-chancellor N Prabhu Dev. The scripts will be sent to respective colleges within 20 days.
Meanwhile, to avoid any type of malpractices in the evaluation system, BU has introduced automatic dummy numbers on the answer scripts to ensure full confidentiality of the candidate, college and examination centre.
Under this scheme, the answer script numbers will be bar coded and the university will tear the upper part of the main sheet where the actual number is entered, before handing them over for evaluation. The university will scan the page which has actual details to enter the marks after evaluation.
The evaluation work will begin from November 25 for some of the subjects. Bio-metric systems have been installed at the evaluation centres to avoid unauthorised persons entering the hall and also to maintain prompt attendance of both valuers and reviewers.
