Home based TVS Motor Company on February 5 launched the racing inspired NTorq smart scooter. The two and three wheeler manufacturer is betting high on its new launch,the NTorq. 

The company already has scooterette, Scooty Pep, TVS Jupiter and We Go under its scooter portfolio. Here are the top 10 things you should know about TVS NTORQ 125.


1. Priced at Rs 58,750 (ex-showroom, New Delhi), the scooter boasts a host of features, many of which are first in its segment.


2.TVS has equipped the NTorq with SmartXonnect technology platform, which allows connecting Android-based smartphones with the scooter. This is a first of its kind innovation in a scooter.


3.TVS Motor Company has used a regular LCD display on NTORQ, which is adaptive at night. 

“The display uses dot matrix to show navigation arrows, text including call and message notification, etc. The display is adaptive at night. We’re using regular LCD display and some portion of it is converted to dot matrix. In this speedometer, you only get arrows while navigation, and not the complete map though,” Vinay Harne, President NPI, TVS Motor Company told the indianexpress.com 

4. The NTorq has a gaming console-inspired, Bluetooth-enabled digital meter that doubles up as the smartphone screen to display information such as calls and message alerts, maps for navigation, miss call alert and such like. 

5. The NTorq has a 220 mm roto petal disc brake on the front wheel, which boast a diamond cut 12-inch alloy frame.

6. To raise the bar, TVS also launched TVS NTorq with a LED light and USB charging port, along with 22-litre storage space under the seat.

7. TVS has partnered with MapMyIndia to show turn-by-turn navigation, and the company says Google Maps integration will soon be available. 

8. TVS is targeting age groups between 18-25 years with its new smart scooters, and this would include those on their first jobs, college students. 

9. The scooter will be available in four colours, matte finish in yellow, green, red and white colour options.

10. The company plans to produce 200,000 units of this scooter in India.
