Will ISL ever beat IPL in its popularity?

Will ISL ever beat IPL in its popularity?

One needs to kill a person's thinking before killing the person, is a saying from a popular Bollywood flick. It is indeed true. It takes ages to change a human being's thinking or thought process, merely because they have become very comfortable in their comfort zone.
The sheer comparison between two individuals take away the essence that the two provide. Be it individuals or be it any sport, the relation it shares with its near ones should never be compared.
In our country any other sport except cricket has to fight for its existence. When asked, people easily say, cricket overshadows other games.
My question is, why did cricket become this popular? Why is the religion that binds our country together?
It is simple. Cricket, in India, is glamorous, it has that factor that could get the whole country to a standstill and more importantly it 'still has' Sachin Tendulkar. The gentleman's game has produced some stalwarts, who have changed the meaning of this game. Well, so have other sports. But, come on, people in our country fail to understand that the sport is famous because India is one of the best teams in the playing eleven.
The inception of Indian Super League, a high-profile football league claims that it is a movement that would revolutionize the game in the country.
Football as a sport is yet to make a mark in India. To sell any product to the consumers, the organizers need to consider the basic things such as it's market, demands and the most important thing - it's sustainability. India surely has the market, there are ample of football fanatics who go gaga about European Football leagues. The demand is also there. Make it glamorous and market it well, the event in turn will sustain with the support of its fans.
The ISL concept, is just two months old, and if things fall in place, the tournament could kick off from September.
So to reach to the crowd, the sport should take help other stars which would make it an instant it. If the tournament is worth, it is sure to stay. And in the long run it will surely benefit the motive.
The eight franchise of the league will be amalgamation of world class player. It will give our players a great chance to rub their shoulder with world class players. The likes of  Sachin Tendulkar, Saurav Ganguly, Salman Khan, Ranbir Kapoor and others winning the bids for the franchises have given it a different look. But will it appeal to the Indian crowd? We've got to wait and watch.
