Inner truth: Dharmic Desires

Inner truth: Dharmic Desires

There is a cause behind anything you do in life, and the cause is desire. So what type of desire should it be? One that is not in conflict with Dharma but in accordance with it. Lord Krishna says, that we must all follow our Swadharma (one’s nature or duty that one is responsible for). Dharma is that which holds the mind, intellect, memory and our inner soul together in harmony. Adharma is because of lack of clarity in the mind, and because of stress. When the mind is not focused and the heart is hurt then Adharma happens. So, knowledge and wisdom is what will put you on the path to Dharma. Swadharma is acting in accordance with your skills, talents, your own nature (swabhava), and that which you are responsible for (karma). Any action that does not make you feel afraid or restless is Swadharma. When we do something that is authentic and from the heart, then there is no fear. Someone who speaks the truth does not feel scared at all. This is what Swadharma is.
