Positive thinking: What creates maturity?

One has to bring in the light of understanding to all walks of life. When there is light of understanding, even death turns out to be a door to the divine. When one door closes, another door opens.

One has to bring in the light of understanding to all walks of life. When there is light of understanding, even death turns out to be a door to the divine. When one door closes, another door opens. When there is the light of love in your heart, silence in your mind and relaxation in your body, universal energy will flow in. In that energy, your life will be a song of the divine.

A sign of maturity is when you operate from the ‘higher self’ and not from the ‘lower self.’ The lower self is full of addictive thoughts, filled with likes and dislikes, dogmas and conclusions. The lower self discourages you by creating invisible obstructions. The higher self encourages you by keeping your mind empty, but filled with silence. Allowing the higher self to operate is maturity. You experience a sense of ripeness. When a fruit is ripe, it falls from the tree. When you are ripe, your lower self drops from you.

Am I an ordinary self or should I look at myself as extra-ordinary self?
We are born from a cell that carries with it the history of evolution and thus we are born as perfect human beings. This is cosmic intelligence. There is no real identity as such but we are more a flow of cosmic intelligence. As compared to cosmic intelligence, an individual over a period of time acquires knowledge through education that creates an identity. Such an identity struggles to be extra-ordinary through which uniqueness is established. Thus the ego is created.

Hence, remove the urge to be extra-ordinary, so that your ‘self’ will not be driven with an urge to be extraordinary. This is maturity. You can live an ordinary life with extraordinary awareness and alertness. For example, even drinking a cup of tea with alertness, love and liveliness makes you feel extraordinary, even though the act is very ordinary.
