CM Narendra Modi on Thursday asked erstwhile workers of National Students’ Union of India (NSUI) and Youth Congress to heal their wounds of delusion given to them by Congress, even as he accused Centre of misusing CBI.

Modi lambasted the Congress-led UPA government in his speech for misusing constitutional agencies like CBI to retain power.

Thousands of workers and leaders from NSUI and Youth Congress from across the state joined BJP in the presence of Modi in an event at Amiraj Farms on SG Road.

“I can imagine your pain that how it would feel betrayed by the party for which you have worked by pouring your blood and sweat,” Modi told the youth who had decided to switch sides. “My responsibility is to heal your wounds. I assure you that your work will not go down the drain. BJP is the only party where Atal Bihari Vajpayee, son of a school teacher, could become PM and a poor boy washing tea cups could become CM. Such a thing cannot be imagined in Congress,” he said.

“We have realised that as our father is not Shankarsinh Vaghela, we can’t be Mahendrasinh Vaghela. I have worked in NSUI for six years but Rahul Gandhi did not meet us even once, but here I just joined six days ago and today CM is with us,” said Hardiksinh Dodia, NSUI’s national delegate.
