Woman who duped thousands across country surrenders

A couple, who duped thousands of people to the tune of Rs 20 crore on the pretext of providing them holiday packages at five-star hotels and plots at cheaper rates, has finally fallen behind bars. 

While Raman Kapoor, 40, director of Sun Star The Club and Goodluck Hotels Private Limited, was arrested on June 19 by Dwarka crime branch, his wife Seema surrendered at Anandnagar police station on Tuesday.

She is an accused in two cheating cases lodged at Anandnagar and Satellite police stations. As many as 400 people were cheated of Rs 6 crore in Ahmedabad. They would lure the victims with an offer of a complimentary dinner at a five-star hotel and urge them to participate in a lucky draw.  Several others were also duped in the name of being allotted flats in Bagodara. 

Apart from that 11 cases of cheating have been lodged against them in 11 cities including Delhi, Mumbai, Lucknow, Surat, Rajkot, Vadodara and Indore.
