The year 2018 will be crucial in terms of monsoon as the state is grappling for water. Apart from 2017, the other years in recent past have been very erratic in terms of late onset, large gaps between two spells of rains.

While the year 2017 was by and large normal there were no late rains, which are useful for winter and summer crops.
