Unidentified woman stabbed ten times, body found near bridge

Body of a young woman with multiple stab injuries and her throat slit was found from a deserted place near Shastri Bridge in Danilimda at around 10 am on Friday.

A group of locals who were crossing the area saw the body lying in a pool of blood near the road and informed police control room.

The information was passed on to Danilimda police, who arrived at the spot to initiate a probe.

According to primary investigation, the woman was stabbed at least 10 times with a sharp weapon before her throat was slit. The cops are trying to identify the deceased. A bracelet and a pendant were recovered from her with 'R' and 'S' alphabets inscribed on it.

RK Amin, Inspector of Danilimda police station, said, "The accused had stabbed the woman at least 10 times. Her throat also slit. The crime must have happened somewhere else and the body was dumped near the bridge. We are trying to identify the woman by finding details about her family. The killer will be nabbed soon ."
