State in-charge of NGO Helping Hands, Sajid Syed, found two more complaints of cheating lodged against him. The complaints were lodged with the Navrangpura and Vadaj police stations on Monday.

In one of the cases, he ordered four golf cars from a Mumbai-based company, but made the payment with a cheque that was dishonoured, while in the second case, he cheated a man by not paying him for having CCTV cameras installed in Vadaj, as per police sources.

As per Navrangpura police, Syed had ordered four golf cars for Rs17.12lakh in February. The golf cars were to be given to the police training academy in Junagadh. However, he made the payment for the same through a cheque which bounced. When the owner of the company and the complainant Parinda Patel tried to contact Syed, his phone was switched off and even his office was closed, after which Patel approached Navrangpura police and lodged a complaint.

Navrangpura police inspector (PI) RV Desai said, “The accused took delivery of the cars, but didn’t intend to pay for it as the cheque he gave while making the deal was dishonoured. We have lodged a complaint and further investigation is on.”

In the second case, complainant Daval Shah stated that Syed had approached him nearly three months ago in order to have 60 CCTV cameras installed in and near the Vadaj police station. They had even visited the police station and spoken to the inspector, after which Shah installed eight cameras in the area, but the payment of Rs80,000 was never made.

Vadaj PI VG Rathod said, “Daval came to us and said that Syed was not picking up his phone nor had he made the payment for the installation of the cameras. Even I tried calling him (Syed), but he did not respond to my calls either, after which we lodged a cheating case against him.”
