Two engineers working with Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) were caught by the Anti Corruption Bureau (ABC) sleuths for taking bribe.

Officials said that ACB trapped Kalpesh Parmar, working as an assistant engineer in AMC Nikol ward, while accepting a bribe of Rs20,000 from a water tanker supplier near Asarwa civil hospital. Parmar had collected the bribe on behalf of Vijay Dabhi, working as deputy city engineer in AMC East zone.

ACB said in a statement that Dabhi, a Class I officer, had allegedly demanded the bribe from the water tanker supplier for clearing his due bills. However, the supplier approached Anti Corruption Bureau and registered a complaint, which led to the trap.

Officials said that the bribe amount of Rs20,000 was recovered from Dabhi. Both the accused were arrested by ACB sleuths. They were booked under various sections of the Prevention of Corruption Act.
