Sleuths of Special Operation Group (SOG) of Crime Branch arrested a man for making hoax bomb calls to the Air traffic Control (ATC) of Ahmedabad international airport.

The accused, who was held from Kutch, told the airport authorities on March 16 that a bomb had been installed on one of the international fights. During interrogation, the man accused said he wanted to check if the Gujarat Police could tackle the situation swiftly.

According to SOG officer, the accused, Pritesh Trivedi, a resident of Gandhidham of Kutch, who works as a medical trader, and a subscriber of Youtube channel Case investigation, called the Ahmedabad Airport ATC control room at around 1.25pm on March 16 from 8244 number.

He said, "There was a bomb in the CocaCola box on the international flight." He said that he is an undercover agent of India, and as per an intelligence report the ISIS has planted a bomb on a flight." After four hours of continues check by the Ahmedabad police agencies, the authorities found that the call was a hoax and a complaint was lodged with Sardaranagar police station.

The investigation was handover to SOG crime, during which the technical team found that the caller Pritesh Trivedi.

"He used to watch a Youtube channel called Case investigation, from where he got the idea of testing the efficiency of the cops."

Trivedi got the ATC control number from Just Dial and called the ATC control room through Skype" said BC Solanki, ACP, SOG Crime Branch
