As both the giant leaders of BJP, PM Narendra Modi and party’s national president Amit Shah, attributed party workers as the backbone of the organisation, the other leaders are also preparing to address the masses separately. The leaders at district and city levels have been preparing to hold Diwali and new year conventions in Gujarat to reorganise and rehash the cadre force ahead of polls.

The Diwali conventions are common in Gujarat and BJP have been utilising this convention as an opportunity to revive the contacts with the party workers who are the mascots in the field. The leaders should also be in touch with the newcomers or the grassroots-level cadres in the party. Leaders arrange such conventions in their territories over the dinner and discuss the poll strategy and organization-related issues.

This year, the Diwali convention has been named as Gujarat Gaurav Sneh Milan programme. The party spokesperson Bharat Pandya has been made an in-charge of this programme at the state level. He would receive the feedback of such conventions to be held across the state from the leaders and will report to the state level high command of the party.

Bharat Pandya, the spokesperson of Gujarat BJP, said, “The state-level organisation has already prepared a blueprint for this convention. The leaders will invoke the cadres to reorganise themselves and train them for the poll battlefield. The workers will be asked to propagate the achievements and schemes of central and state government among the masses of voters. The leaders would greet them for Diwali and will enthuse them to achieve the target of more than 150 seats in assembly polls due in December.”

“This Gujarat Gaurav Sneh Sammelan will be held continuously for eight days from October 21 to October 28. State-level top brass leaders, and enior leaders of BJP will take part in the Sammelan,” Pandya added.
